Programming PIC through a USB port

Hi everyone,

I don't own any PCs that have serial ports on them, so I bought a cable that has a female 9-pin on one end and male USB on the other. I thought I could plug the ICSP cable into this and program the PIC via the USB port on my laptop, but apparently this does not work. Does anyone know of another solution I could use, rather than buying an old PC with a serial port?

You can use a USB PicKit programmer.
